Description
Looking at years of Nike+ data, we know that people who run on Sundays will be more active for the rest of the week. We also know that one other people are often the greatest motivation. That’s why we created Just Do It Sunday, the world’s first weekly connected race.
An Apple Watch Nike+ exclusive, Just Do It Sunday invites runners all over the word to compete in a 5K, at their own pace, wherever they are. Much like Nike’s iconic Human Race brought together people in real life, Just Do It Sunday creates a weekly digital connection, adding fun and community to the running experience.
With a single tap, you can compare yourself to friends, frenemies, and the world, check the leaderboard, and feel the push of having a million runners at your side.
Execution
Just Do It Sunday is a new way to change behaviors and develop new relationships between runners everywhere. On Sundays, and only Sundays, runners can tap into a special Just Do It Sunday event interface on their watches. They choose the mode can see all the people who are currently running. When they run, they’re automatically connected to people running all over the world. After the run, they can see their results, post their run and see the stats from runs all over the world. They can start or continue a streak and also see how many Just Do It Sundays they’ve competed in. It’s Nike’s iconic human race, for runners everywhere, every Sunday.
Outcome
• In the first 5 months from launch, the Nike+ community has gained 190K new users through the Apple Watch Nike +
• From a base of 750K Active Users, on average 75% are coming back week after week to up their run game.
