We selected a voice with a non-regional accent as being a national ad we didn't want to alienate any of our listeners. The VO was actually the daughter of the Audi Account Manager who recorded her child reading the script, initially as a way to help sell in the concept.
The authenticity of a child who wasn't actually from a talent agency worked well with the concept and we ended up using this child for the studio recording. The VO also has standout because it is unusual to hear a child's voice in the context of automotive radio advertising.
