Why is this work relevant for Outdoor?

In what is expected to become the biggest travel year ever, we reminded tourists that familiar taste of McDonald’s is never far away, no matter where you are in the world. We did so by showing how next to many of the most visited landmarks in the world, there’s another landmark. A McDonald’s.

We created posters in the style of travel postcards that were displayed in our restaurants, showing both the world-famous landmark, as well as the McDonald’s restaurant next door, giving tourists a familiar taste and finding their way to it.

Background:

With an expected 4.7 billion travelers, 2024 is set to become the biggest travel year in history. And with more than 38,000 restaurants in over 100 countries, it’s safe to say that wherever people go, the familiar taste of McDonald’s is always close by.

McDonald’s wanted to stay top of mind among travelers and make a stop at a McDonald’s abroad a must-visit.

Describe the Impact:

In a time of increased competition, we generated plenty of positive brand sentiment among travelers by demonstrating how McDonald’s, with its extensive global footprint, can be part of every journey.

The campaign is still ongoing, continuing to make tourists hungry for travel, and more importantly, for McDonald’s.
