EntrySummary
Brazilian kids read a lot less than they should – 2.4 books a year. At the same rate, 83% of them access the internet constantly on their phones and tablets every day. That data proves that Kids are willing to read - they are just not reading books.
For Brazil's National Day of Infant Reading, National Geographic had the challenge to try to change this number even a little bit. With a budget of less than U$15.000, this project was supposed to be scalable and replicated on other countries without obstacles.
To achieve this, we created a new way for them to access their beloved network: PassWorld, the first book that connects you to the internet without chips, wires or any kind of special technology. All kids have to do is read the book and find the Wi-Fi password hiding in the chapters to open a whole world of wonders.

In the middle of the way,
a giant monkey gave him a warning:
- Did you ate your breakfast, kid?
It's really important to eat in the morning!
PAGE 07
The monkey then, quickly offered
a whole banana for him to eat.
The shape of it? The letter "M"!
He found another one. Sweet!

With his belly full of food
He saw some plants in a fantastic mood.
They looked at him and said in a fuss:
- To find another letter you got to surprise us!
(*SURPRISE US*)

It was a tough challenge, but he had a clue.
- My granma told me a lot of stories about you!
The plants were impressed - how could he know?
They opened their mouths and screamed a loud:
- OOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
PAGE 10
With the third letter on his pocket,
he could already start to write.
But suddenly, all went dark!
Who was responsible for turning off the light?
It was a cloud?
It was about to rain?
The answer actually, was the letter L!
And then the light was shining again.
PAGE 12
He run to the light
and found a stair.
It was extraordinarily tall,
but he wasn't scared,
PAGE 13
He climbed the stairs
and found a letter right in the middle,
the word was near completed
and he was closer to solve the riddle.

about the world he had never seen:
