Background

Girls are constantly faced with stereotypes, stopping them from participating in sports. And even the Sultans of the Net, the number one-ranked team in the world, are considered intruders in their own area of excellence. So, with all these barriers to playing, how are there any girls in sports? Our conclusion: It takes courage to be a girl in sports.

Campaign idea

Balls for Girls features the launch of a collection of sports balls that each endorse the ownership of a different stereotype forced upon young girls. With every ball, the Sultans of the Net will empower girls in sports to embrace their femininity, masculinity, sensitivity, and overall female attributes while playing. The campaign is designed to generate initial backlash, so it propels itself forward, unfolding in a big moment featuring Billie Eilish at the 2024 Olympics. This will get the attention of millions of young girls, and it will grab their attention through a last fase where Turkey’s volleyball team turn their favorite influencers into sports influencers.
