Background

Women’s participation in sports is decreasing all over Europe. Women’s participation in sport is always lower than men’s and decreases with age, dropout rates are growing between the ages of 14 and 18.

Some of them, drop out because of studies, or because they found other things to do. Others create a psychological barrier, like a lack of confidence or performance-related stress.

The Sultans of the Net are the Turkish women's national volleyball team. A successful case in women's sports, that represents the values of women's empowerment, sportsmanship, and resilience.

As role models in Turkey, they will be encouraging young girls and teens to participate in any sport, raise awareness about gender equality, and contribute to ending gender discrimination.

Campaign idea

In this digital era, the attention span is decreasing, so we believe a traditional campaign is not going to grab young girls' attention. We must follow trends and give them something all girls want to share on social media, and something valuable.

Using the classic game of Bingo, we´ll create a movement to encourage girls to explore different sports with their friends and win prizes.

Sultans of the Net will be the leaders of the movement, showcasing that everyone feels the same insecurities when trying new things.

We´ll create an activation in Istanbul's main square for sports experimentation, only for girls - Bingirlz.

A fun and safe space where the Sultans of the Net and young girls can try different sports while playing bingo. The colourful and bold look & feel will make the activation sharable on social media.

To promote it, we’ll use the Sultans of the Net in Turkey, and then, spread the movement across Europe with different personalities and clubs, showing that regardless of the profession, everyone does sports.
