Background

The Turkish Volleyball Federation aims to boost young female sports participation with the Sultans of the Net as role models, yet faces a growing issue: a 52% dropout rate in organized sports due to various factors. Acknowledging the absence of a universal solution, our focus is on uncovering the underlying psychological factors contributing to this significant youth sports dropout problem.

Campaign idea

Many young female athletes harbor internal doubts and mental barriers that hinder their pursuit of sports dreams. The prevailing self-dialogue often leans towards underestimating personal potential, diminishing aspirations with phrases like, "It’s not like you're going to be an Olympic athlete." These limiting beliefs contribute to the high dropout rates among young athletes despite their innate passion for sports. The "DREAM TEAM" campaign aims to empower young female athletes in volleyball, breaking down mental barriers, and empowering young female athletes to reclaim their passion for volleyball. It introduces a new position on the court lineup, the "dreamer," to showcase drop-outs as integral members of the team of their dreams, transforming a volleyball team into a dream team, and fostering a community where dreams are celebrated.
