Teenage Girls are dropping out of sports at “alarming rates”, specifically when they hit puberty. As today’s world is filled with so many options to choose from, but little access to it, it can be quite overwhelming to actually find a sports you love to stick with. At the same time female teens are increasingly engaged in digital games, while physical activity rates are declining. Instead of seeing this trend as a risk, we use it as a catalyst to connect sports to the digital world of young teenagers to enable much greater accessibility.

To meet young female teens where they hangout most we use the digital world of Roblox to create an immersive digital playground, where teenage girls can freely explore sports without the fear of judgement or exclusion. We create a set of diverse worlds, focussing on fun, playful challenges and educational content, empowering girls to explore their athletic potential within various sports.

#HerPlayground is not only a virtual space, but a catalyst for positive change, striving to reverse the trend of declining sports involvement among teenage girls by making sports accessible, enjoyable, and empowering within the familiar and exciting world of Roblox.
