Background

Sultans of the Net, the National Volleyball team of Turkey and Championship winners, regardless of their success continue to receive negative comments, proving that women in sport are often “victims” of negative and stereotypical commentary.

This phenomenon not only affects women that are already in sport but also young girls who get discouraged to participate. At the same time, the limited visibility of women in sport and the lack of empowerment to young girls, cause a high dropout rate in the early ages.

It's time to empower young girls and rebuild the world of sports for them.

Campaign idea

Inspired by the negative comments towards women in sport globally, we confute them with facts and turn them into their power, through humor. How? With the #1 social media trend, memes.

Memes are considered to be the hottest trend among Gen Z teens and an international way of communication in the social media world. They combine facts, relatable content and humor all in one, while advocating on social issues.

Having as a reference point the backlash that Sultans of the Net get regardless of their success, we make them the stars of our campaign through memes that remark on the most common stereotypical comments and prove that they are the G.O.A.T (*Greatest Of All Time in Gen Z slang) regardless of the negativity.
