Background

The Sultans of the Net has inspiring stories to tell, which has great potential to motivate young girls to start sports and decrease the gender gap.

Campaign idea

Let's make the red scrunchie the new wearable symbol of girlpower by encouraging youth to do sports, so they can become a game-changer woman! Don't worry, the scrunchie is not just a hairband; it can be a bracelet for short-haired girls too.

Taking advantage of the Olympics, we would launch a PR-focused campaign to create buzz around the problem and boost more and more girl to do sports.

We kick-off the campaign before the Olympics by introducing the ScrunchiePower to the young ones through social media channels. Also starting scrunchiepower.com, where you can get a scrunchie, and get engaged with the team’s story.

Besides a strong OOH presence at the Olympics, we would launch a PR act at every volleyball event where the team plays by inviting a whole sector of school girls, all wearing our scrunchie, to cheer for the Sultans of the Net.

After the Olympics, we would give away thousands of scrunchies for schoolgirls via local Volleyball Committees. Starting a new school year is the perfect opportunity for a new sport.
