Background

To create an inspirational integrated campaign with the Turkish women's volleyball team at its core

that will increase women’s participation in sport.

The primary objective of this campaign is to inspire young girls and teens, encourage

participation of women in sports, but also in leadership and all other aspects of life that they want to excel in. The secondary goal is to utilise this campaign to raise awareness about gender equality and contribute to ending gender discrimination.

Campaign idea

The idea is focused on establishing Sultans of the Net as a symbol against any form of oppression, under the umbrella title Sultans Against the Machine. The strategy behind the idea is the concept of a revolution. To start a revolution one must have a spark - the ideal that motivates it - ,strong funding to bring its goals to life and of course a weapon. In our case, the spark is a campaign promoting the launch of a partnership between the team and MAC Cosmetics, with a sweatproof lipstick in the bespoke shade SULTANS. A QR code on the packaging with lead to a website that people can read about the team, donate to local women's sports teams and find teams in their area to register. A partnership with Revolut for the creation of a custom Donation Pocket will support local teams through user donations. Finally, the development of a Google Maps extension will give young girls a tool to find out about games being played in their neighbourhoods showing time and location - inspiring them to get started with sports without the pressure of performance.
