Background

Through an inspiring sports journey, the Turkish women's national volleyball team has evolved into a symbol of strength, resilience, and determination. Its achievements surpass the strict limits of volleyball and generate discussions that touch on more sensitive issues, such as women's sexuality and women's rights. Among them is the right to play sports, an obvious right for men but a more 'complex' matter for women, especially for young girls.

With the 'Sultans of the Net' playing a core role, we are launching an integrated campaign to encourage young girls to take up a sport or continue physical activities that may have been interrupted due to social reasons. Additionally, a crucial goal is to end gender discrimination and promote a philosophy of gender equality in every aspect of our everyday life.

Campaign idea

The “Sultans of the Net” has been the leading female empowerment example in Turkey. A women’s team that has shed a light on issues that become repulsive “nets” around young girls’ participation in sports.

Now, “Sultans of the Net” turns into “Sultans of the Network” acting as a female lighthouse in every corner of Europe. Giving power to female sports meetups. Connecting girls that haven’t met before, but share the same vision. Generating hives, digital or physical. Breaking down barriers. And shaping networks without nets. Resilient networks that inspire each and every girl to start playing sports.

In order to capture the maximum attention of our target audience, Generation A and Generation Z, we have exclusively focused on the digital landscape in three ways. First, by developing a fresh and fun app for young girls in partnership with Vodafone. Secondly, by integrating new features into popular digital platforms to make them more inclusive and female-friendly. And thirdly, by executing a social media campaign that highlights the profound impact of sports on girls' mentality, spirit, and mood.
