Background

Even if almost 68% of girls drop out of sports due to judgement and discrimination, most of them stay silent about it. But to end discrimination, you must call it out.

Campaign idea

Introducing the “Call-Out Jersey”: Turkey's Volleyball Team speaks up against women's discrimination, by turning their jersey numbers into the times they’ve been discriminated in sports. Calling out to stand against it, together.

We start with a bang on TV.In the kick-off game of the season, we change what’s deeply characteristic of each player: their jersey number – letting the internet go crazy about it.

After the match, the true meaning of the numbers is disclosed: players are calling out how many episodes of discrimination they’ve experienced in the last season – encouraging females not to stand in silence, but act together.

“Sultans of the Net” are just the beginning:on TikTok and Instagram we invite female athletes all-over Europe, to share their #CallOutNumbers and talk about their experiences. Whoever identifies as a woman will be welcomed to share their own story online, to create a more inclusive and equal sport environment.

To wrap it up and generate even more impact, we make the jersey available for customers in every Pumastore – both offline and online. Users will be able to customize it and proudly stand against discrimination, together.
