Background

The games we play in school are gender-biased, and the ones of girls don’t involve as much sports as for the boys. According to an UN report, at school 20% of boys occupy 80% to 90% of playgrounds. Mainly because they take part in sporting games that girls often shy away from

Campaign idea

Let’s turn the hopscotch, a game often said to be for girls, into a basic training for volley-ball, raising callings and get them playing.

We will produce a launch film starrring Sultans of the Net players, from playing the Training Hopscotch to real match of volleyball.

Meanwhile we send a starter pack including guidelines, stencils and paint to schools and public places so they can create their own volleyball training hopscotches and change the classic game.

Girls around Europe can also take part in the Hopscotch Challenge on social media. Completing and winning the social media challenge provides priviliged access to volleyball clubs across Europe, turning the playground game into a calling to enroll young girls in volleyball clubs.

When clichés can't be broken, use them to drive change.
