Background

Knowing that girls drop out of sports specially in the age between 14-18 due to mental barriers, create an integrated campaign to promote participation of young European girls in sports, using the Turkish Female Volleyball team as an example of success in life and sports. The two main goals for the campaign are 1- inspire young girls to participate in sports, and never dropping out and 2- raise awareness to gender equality avoiding future discrimination.

The TVF wants to have an impact that guarantees sustainable women participation in sports.

Campaign idea

On May 12th 2024, the First Cheerleader Moms’ Team ever will show up by surprise on a friendly match set by the TVF between Turkey and Serbia to promote inclusion and women in sports, thus achieving gender equality.

Young girls drop out of sports between the ages of 14 and 18 because of lack of support, internal motivation and their mental wellbeing. This is when girls start being independent and going to practice alone, meaning they don’t have their n1 fans looking at them!

We want to call all moms to action to continue cheerleading their girls and avoid dropouts, ensuring constant presence of women in sports.

The teaser will happen on social platforms inviting Moms and Daughters to watch the game live and leave their daily responsibilities.

The day after the broadcasted live friendly match, a press kit with the pom pom produced by TVF will be sent to all Turkish Federations from other sports.

Instagram & TikTok will have special content developed under the #NeverStopCheerleadingGirls.

As an add-on, we want to take action together with all sports clubs inviting them to change “Emergency” to “Cheer Contact” – calling these cheerleaders to be there also when little girls feel like dropping out.
