The brief was to get young girls to participate in sports and raise awareness about gender equality. In 2021 President Erdogan (among other men) withdrew Turkeys participation of Europe’s Convention on Combating Violence Against Women, claiming it undermines traditional family values. The world still has deep rooted social stigmas – the future of equality amongst all genders is threatened. And the effects of that goes aaaaall the way down to sports.

Sultans of the Net is famous worldwide and big enough to put pressure on the conservative men of power, by doing what they do best – serve!

To send a message and raise awareness on the importance of gender equality we will therefore start passing the ball around. Starting with a serve by Ebrar Karakurt in the council to a start our awerness movement: YOU GOT SERVED. People are then encouraged to spread the word and pass it forward on social media and with print media.
