Clients and agencies are always talking about how viral their videos have gone (especially at award shows). But did they really? Or were they paid for, using seeding companies and bought views? It’s the dirty little secret that nobody talks about (and Cannes judges debate endlessly).
So to poke some good-natured fun at our industry (and get some PR for ourselves), John St. released a video titled ‘BUYRAL’ – about a mock professional clicking service you can pay to guarantee your videos go viral.
Ironically, the self-promotion went viral itself, hitting over a half million views in just 6 days. And we didn't pay for a single click. Honest.
