Write a short summary of what happens in the film

The film highlights the most crucial lesson for learning: Embracing mistakes.

This simple, naivistic educational video aims to help parents—and also children—overcome the fear of failure by viewing mistakes as a welcomed part of the learning process. We all stumble from time to time, whether we're kids, parents, or even teachers, and that's perfectly fine! It’s all part of the journey of learning.

The lesson is told by using metaphors and symbolism, such as an accidentally spilled apple that grows into a fruit-bearing tree, and elephants, the symbols of a sacred animal, mental strength, and wisdom in Hinduism.

Background

Not enough parents engage, teach, or spend enough time with their children, even though it's been proven that increased engagement with preschool-aged children leads to better performance and learning skills in school. One of the reasons is that many parents feel discouraged and helpless when it comes to participating in teaching because they lack confidence and awareness.

Rocket Learning aims to encourage and assist parents in India to engage and play more with their preschool-aged children. Through simple tasks and games distributed via WhatsApp, parents from all socio-economic backgrounds can help their children learn more.

The film aims to inspire and motivate parents in India to become more actively involved in their children's education and, more broadly, to spend quality time with them. Additionally, it seeks to raise awareness about Rocket Learning. The film should embrace inclusivity and resonate with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

Strategy and Insight

Fear of failing stands in the way of taking action, but in reality, learning begins by screwing up.

Some parents, particularly young or poorly educated ones, may doubt their ability to teach and connect with their children, leading to inaction. Similarly, high expectations for success can make learning unpleasant for children, dampening their enthusiasm.

The goal is to inspire parents to embrace play and failure alongside their children. By normalizing mistakes, both parents and children are encouraged to continue engaging in games and play together. Shedding light on the joy of play, learning, and failure, we aim to transform the perception of learning from a pass-or-fail task to an adventurous exploration.

The video's style and aesthetic are inspired by the educational content provided by Rocket Learning. The non-judgmental tone and positive message are encouraging and emphasize that neither parent nor child needs to be perfect in everything in order to teach or learn. By utilizing cute and relatable animal characters instead of people, and employing an approachable visual style, we ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, gender, or ethnicity, can see themselves in the story of two goofy elephants.
