Americans have a very big problem. They’re not taking their tum-tums seriously. If they were, they wouldn’t need a man of intensity, a man of pure protein, A Man of Yogurt, to tell them about all the ways that Yoplait Greek 100 can and will make their tummies very, very happy.
Execution
Because of the unusual nature of casting a 'tough guy' for a yogurt ad, we needed an actor who could defy expectations. We looked for someone who could apply the softer, gentler attributes of Yoplait Greek 100– its great taste, its distinct flavors and its light and fluffy texture – to a strong, hardened persona. Dominic knew exactly how to balance pure intensity with a lighter, softer side. His performance made the whole thing pretty funny and interesting in our minds. The key to casting was not going with an obvious comedy actor playing tough, but rather casting Dominic, known for more dramatic roles and letting his remarkable deadpan delivery create the tone. We talked about various potential ‘tough guys’ for the campaign, but Dominic was inevitable.
