Our approach: An Australian first giving people exclusive access to their favourite TV anytime and anywhere.

We partnered with the 7 Network and Yahoo7 to develop the first ever Catch Up TV app, brokering a deal that gave Samsung exclusive rights to their catch up TV content on Tablets, Phones, TV, Home Theatres and Blu Rays.

Australian’s would have first access to their favourite and hotly anticipated shows. With the exclusive content locked in, we launched into the market place, sharing the announcement through press releases, co-sponsored Network Promotions, association with our Live Campaigns, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and retailer partners.

The Plus7 App was pre-loaded on to all new Samsung devices, TV’s, mobiles, tablets and laptops. All media channels worked in tandem to create a relevant, sought after experience that people wanted and we could provide.

Outcome

The launch of Plus7 firmly cemented Samsung as a technology leader in exclusive catch-up content in Australia.

The App was shared on over 500,000 Samsung devices, instantly creating a new advertising revenue stream for both companies. Unique users for Yahoo7 online increased 534% and the buzz grows with average daily downloads continuing to increase 28% since launch. Samsung received over $5million worth of advertising support through Yahoo7 utilizing their owned assets.

The Plus7 App continues to grow, boosting traffic to Samsung Apps stores and is the number one catch up TV app in the Australian market to date.
