Background
Today’s world goes at full speed: tv series, we marathon them; calls, we exchange them for messages and messages for voice notes that we also listen to in 2x. With books, a similar thing happens, people look for abridged versions, which don't do justice to the author's creation.
A behavioral campaign led by the industry's leader, looking to foster respect for literature in these modern times.
Idea
We created a series of one-page books with the same care and detail with which the writer chooses each word to spin a story.
As if Gutenberg had done it, typographic printing was used. To do this, we created the plate of each page, and one by one, they were printed on the same sheet to show what happens when you read an abridged version: you miss the book.
Strategy
We launched the One Page Books during FILBO Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá (Latinamerica's second biggest book fair), a captive audience by the tens of thousands eager to get their hands on everything from Penguin Random House's best sellers and classics, even to... other editorials abridged versions.
We needed to raise people's awareness of the importance of reading the full versions of 3 of the world's finest works of literature and, with the help of a discount coupon Don Quijote de La Mancha, The little Prince and Alice in Wonderland sold out.
Execution
Typographic printing was used to print each book in Penguin Random House's first ever: single-page editions.
The One-page books were placed in bookstores in between the books to invite people to purchase and read the complete literary works at discount price.
A behavioral campaign led by the industry's leader, looking to foster respect for literature in these modern times.
Outcome
By inviting readers not to use shortcuts when reading a book, we added perceived value to books with a simple metaphor, if a book like Don Quijote has 1.166 pages, they're there for a reason, not a single word should be taken out, even in today's vertiginous times the author's masterpiece needs to be respected in its full length. An educational campaign led by the industry's leader, in order to foster respect for literature.
