Description

Ireland, like the rest of the world, was in the midst of a recession and the car market was depressed (weren't we all?) because people had stopped buying new cars. Carculator was a really useful web application that allowed users to 'carculate' the running costs of their existing car and then compare those against the running costs of a brand new Renault. Over 100,000 people used the 'Carculator' and 97% of those 'carculations' were favourable to Renault. Consumers discovered that they could save themselves money and hassle by switching to a new Renault, which lead to a surge in sales.
