Description

This film depicts the creation of the drink “The Cuba Libre” amidst the backdrop of the success of The Cuban war for Independence (circa 1900), where Teddy Roosevelt’s Rough Riders aided the brave Cuban rebels to defeat the Spanish. A young soldier falls under the spell of a gorgeous and brave rebel girl, whom he offers the American national drink – cola. She, being a battle-hardened revolutionary, adds the Cuban national drink, Bacardi rum, to his drink and gives it back to him with their battle cry – “Cuba Libre! – and a drink is born.
