Description

Alzheimer’s New Zealand wanted a memorable piece of communication that would raise awareness amongst New Zealanders of the disease’s early warning signs, like memory loss.

Execution

We wanted everyday New Zealander’s to experience their own memory loss, so we designed and created pens that were filled with fading ink.

Distributed by Alzheimer’s New Zealand, these pens looked and wrote like a normal pen. But soon any message that was written would start to fade from the paper and within 15 minutes was completely gone.

Outcome

Alzheimer’s New Zealand distributed these pens away amongst the public, sent them to various local organisations, as well as distributed them to local politicians, with a letter, in an attempt to raise awareness of the charity.

Receiving positive feedback from the public, these popular pens are now in their second production run and will hopefully continue to leave people with some sort of understanding of what people with Alzheimer’s go through everyday, and where they could turn for more information and support. www.alzheimers.org.nz
