How can you show that people are invisible because they’ve simply disappeared? By making them literally vanish from the screen into thin air. We positioned a camera behind a monitor at Munich Airport: It fed real-time video 1:1 into the monitor. Our technicians used special image masks to make people in the departure hall disappear – live. Interested parties received further information and calls for donation via QR code and text messages.
Outcome
•Many of the 700,000 passengers at Munich Airport witnessed travellers disappearing before their very eyes•Amnesty distributed the video across its entire international network •Numerous media outlets in Germany, France, the UK and Austria reported on the campaign •Once the documentary was distributed, traffic on the Amnesty website increased by 45% •Donations via QR Code increased by 25% during the campaign period
