Background

This new Nordstrom commercial presents a celebration of humanity, a closer look at how all of us live in the world—intersecting, interacting, connecting. A collection of unique individuals is featured with rich and diverse stories and backgrounds. This is the world we love—one in which everyone's welcome, where people and their styles crisscross, and openness inspires possibility.

Execution

The original track concept was born out of the idea of improv. The piece utilizes a simple musical concept in an improvisational style that gradually develops in complexity to build intensity and restrained emotion. At the instructors command to “stop”, the piece rings out in a grand pause before a delicate coda to punctuate the final images.
