Description

Visiting Cuzco causes altitude sickness, as it’s located at 11,152 feet above sea level. The way to prevent it in Peru is an ancient method called "Chacchado de Coca", where a person places a coca leaf in the mouth and chews it releasing a substance that gives them energy and relieve the symptoms.

So we decided to create the first anti-altitude sickness business card made of coca leaf. The cards were given to our Lima guests so when they arrive in Cuzco they could start chewing them. The contact details of the Cuzco Hostel were detachable.

Execution

The creative execution is so relevant because it helps the travelers to overcome a problem and at the same time promotes the hostel as the only distributor of this great and unique experience.

Outcome

In the following month we received a 68% increase in bookings in our new Cuzco Hostel.

We contributed to change the negative perception of the coca leaf, that is so historic and valuable for all the peruvians.

We gave backpackers a whole new experience.
