Description

How to commemorate the 4th death anniversary of the Abbé Pierre, founder of the Foundation Abbé Pierre which fights against bad housing conditions, who became iconic in 1954 with a famous radio speech : « the abbé Pierre’s call ».

Execution

We decided to commemorate his death anniversary by bringing « the call » back to life. We asked JonOne, famous New York graffiti artist, to tag the Abbé Pierre’s call on a wall donated by the city of Paris. The director Martin Fougerol (White stripes, U2, …) captured the event in a poetic clip and Jean-Gabriel Becker remixed the Abbé Pierre’s call.

Outcome

A great PR coverage (TV channels + newspapers covered the event).A great buzz on the web : More than 1000 tweets, hundreds of blog articles, 25 000 views on Vimeo,Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris, announced during the commemoration on January 22th 2011 that the artistic work from JonOne will be kept forever.
