OVERVIEW

Description

The Nassauische Sparkasse (Naspa) - one of the largest German public banks - asked us to redesign their main website. The old site had stayed mostly unchanged for almost two years, but now it was time to give it an optical overhaul. Our main goals were to improve orientation and loading times. Moreover, we wanted to give it a cleaner and more contemporary look and feel. The result was a clear layout with dominant horizontal section headers and a symmetrical grid. Moreover, we concentrated on the main corporate colours of Naspa (dark blue, orange and white) to create strong contrasts and a clean impression. Subtle details and variations add depths and diversity. The large image at the top of the page acts as a visual anchor and dominates the page. All other illustrative elements use only the basic palette to prevent optical noise and create harmony. The main navigation is now done entirely in Flash and expands dynamically to the right as a user wants to dig deeper into the site. Thus acting as an interactive sitemap on every page. Especially the use of flash made the site a lot faster, since it displays instantly and loads in the background.
