Description
Deep in the Madagascan rainforest, one chameleon body pops to Panjabi MC while the other chameleons look on with a mixture of shock and awe. This chameleon is totally in the zone – effortlessly performing fluid dance moves while he changes colour from top to tail. He even catches a fly in time with the beat. Why can’t all the other chameleons be a bit more… Berocca?
Execution
With this new software, in a matter of seconds, we could create 3D animations of Roccy doing a range of bespoke moves and dance routines, which we could then import into people’s photo and video posts. We also posted an invitation on Berocca’s Facebook page for people to submit videos of themselves dancing so Roccy could join in. We then responded in moments with Roccy making guest appearances in their videos to help them feel energised. So when says “Roccy can you breakdance with me in my wedding video” – in a moment, he’s there.
Outcome
The campaign only launched a few weeks ago but early indications are promising, with major retailers reporting Berocca sales increases of up to 45% in the first two weeks. The film had received over 280,000 organic views on YouTube at the time of writing and many people posted their own re-edits of the ad online. Although the film only aired in the UK, it was written about in countries around the world and was immediately picked up as Campaign’s Pick of the Week. The Facebook post was uploaded on April 27th so we’re waiting to see how audiences react.
