Description

The brainchild of legendary artist and producer Dr. Dre and Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records Jimmy Iovine, Beats by Dr. Dre creates premium consumer headphones, earphones and speakers. Through these offerings, Beats has effectively brought the energy, emotion and excitement of playback in the recording studio to the listening experience and has introduced an entirely new generation to the possibilities of premium sound entertainment. Since the launch of Beats' first headphone in 2008, it has gone on to own 51% of an estimated 1 billion dollar premium headphone market today.

Execution

Every detail in the new Studio was specially crafted to create a streamlined look, feel, and fit. The new design features lighter materials, increased strength, improved flexibility and acute attention to detail. Drawing inspiration from the classic highlights of the Porsche 911, automotive surfacing techniques were used to capture light and reflection in interesting ways. There are no visible screws. There are no straight lines. The result is a design that is at once simple and complex with surfaces that look and feel wonderful.

Outcome

The new Beats Studio has been completely reimagined, creating a beautiful new product that is lighter, stronger, and more comfortable, with a balanced precision sound, adaptive noise canceling, and a 20-hour rechargeable battery. We spent an enormous amount of time getting the details right on the new Studio–it’s by far the highest level of execution ever exhibited on a high volume headphone. It has all the style and excitement expected from Beats, plus a powerful, reengineered sound that creates an immersive listening experience for users.
