Execution

The Hansa Board of Approval offered a chance for consumers to win a 'non-executive' seat on the board for 1 year, with a monthly salary of R50 000.This allowed for a nationwide search for their latest member through a series of 1 on 1 interviews which brought the board to life in a very real, tangible way.The on-bottle chance to win helped drive the volume objective by offering consumers who didn't have a first hand experience with the interview teams, the chance to win too.

Outcome

The promotion received the most SMS entries ever for SAB Miller across all their brands, with over 1 100 000 entries received.Volumes increased by 6% - over organic growth - during the notoriously dry winter months of June, July and August. This was particularly impressive as the brand reached volume sales matching those seen only over holiday periods, when consumption increases substantially.
