Description
Turn the iconic UNESCO Heritage Listed Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour into Bieber Island and host a one off Justin Bieber concert for 2,000 fans and broadcast it live across TV and Radio.
Ferry winners to a secret location for a live and once in a lifetime performance by Justin Bieber.
Execution
With confirmation of Justin’s Bieber coming to Australia only 3 weeks before his arrival, we set high ambitions for this feat.
Nobody had ever held a concert at Cockatoo Island before, so the very top of the to-do list was to convince local Government to let us convert it into a pop paradise.
The production saw 21 barges across two days loading-in marquees, bathrooms, catering and two outdoor broadcast studios for separate networks.
We then brought together Sydney’s #1 breakfast radio show and Australia's #1 Breakfast TV show, to broadcast their programs live and under the united banner of #BieberIsland.
Brands worked with media partners to activate a 'call-to-win' mechanic as well as customer-focused competitions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Winners were invited to take one of 10 ferries from a range of locations in Sydney.
