Trading bitter news for a bitter beer.
Execution
In December 2016, Farnham ran a print ad for an entire week in the Burlington newspaper, inviting people to cut out any article that made them bitter. Afterwards, they could present this self-made coupon at the brewery in exchange for a free bitter beer. With all the bad news being reported every day, we pretty much transformed the entire newspaper into a huge ad for Farnham – all on a very small budget.
Outcome
Awareness increased 39%
Brewery visits increased 600% compared to the grand opening a year before.
