Description

The creative idea was Netflix for Vets . A platform that would leverage machine learning to suggest content according to user selected interest areas and previously viewed content - in a user experience that was instantly and intuitively obvious to users with experience of on-demand video services.

Execution

Using machine learning, assets are arranged and suggested according to each user’s selected interest areas and previously viewed content. The result is content that sorts itself - providing a tailor made browsing experience for every user

A mega-menu splits content into species areas, and further sub-divides into disease and treatment specialisms.

On demand video options are sorted by view numbers, vet ratings and most recently posted. Users can bookmark assets, add personal notes for future reference and download everything for offline viewing.

Detailed keyword tagging of all site assets ensures accurate search results – and even serves off license information in response to “direct hit” queries.

Bookmarks and notes are easily accessed through the ‘My Academy’ links – which also features the central log of all CPD points. Everything that the user has viewed on the site or downloaded is automatically recorded here – along with the CPD value.

Outcome

The launch of The Academy was solidly supported by BI with a full spectrum of advertising initiatives and promotions.

The results have been impressive – at the end of 2016 while vets were getting their CPD hours up to date, ICC were logging sign ups in excess of 400 new users a day.

The statistics speak for the success. From launching on March 10 2016 The Boehringer Academy has grown to 22324 members who have gained between them a staggering 15,182 CPD hours for this calendar year.

Internally for the client The Boehringer Academy is being used as a vital source of enriched CRM data. The success of the platform establishes it as a key pillar in defining BI’s firm commitment to their vet partners.
