This was a hugely ambitious project, with a fight against budget and schedule a prevalent topic for every conversation. Pulse films undertook the mammoth task of building the rotating set for real with the intention to compositing a miniature model set for the the surrounding environment and backgrounds.
Given the limited time in pre production and the need for creative changes after the shoot, the practical model became less useful for the final picture and we began the huge undertaking of rebuilding the surround world in CG.
Additional flourishes such as dog walkers, cats, birds, cars and falling leaves, the final composite included a number of visual cues to ensure that the viewer doesn't question that this insane feat happened for real. Extensive rig removal, cleanup, matte painting and grade helps to cement the illusion. coupled with emotive story writing by Uncommon, the final result is truly original and moving.
