The Call of Duty Franchise has been played by 55 million people worldwide. But it’s not just played by the stereotypical gamer you’d expect – it’s your neighbor, your doctor, celebrities, athletes, and that lawyer who just passed you on the street. For the launch TV spot for Call of Duty: Black Ops, we decided to celebrate the game’s incredible appeal. Set in a war-torn battlefield inspired by the game, each of the performers in the spot is a gamer in real life – getting to live out their ultimate fantasy. The ad is a reminder to the world that Call of Duty is more than a game. It’s a global cultural phenomenon. One that makes soldiers out of everyday people.
