Background

Canal+ is a French premium television channel launched in 1984. The channel broadcasts several kinds of programming, mostly encrypted. Unencrypted programming can be viewed free of charge on Canal+ and on satellite on Canal+ Clair (Clear).

Execution

The main creative challenges was to create his mind: An illuminated object, moving in a dark world (city without lights...) with a random path. But, this "mind" did not have to be a comet or an "ARMAGEDON" element. The biggest technical challenge is the simulation of our light spirit. The effect is only revealed through light interactions. The object is never visible, it illuminates the atmosphere and the decor that surrounds it and that's what we see in the image. Indirect lighting method (approximately 3 hours of calculation per image) = requires advanced technology and computing power to keep the bet in production time.

The second technical challenge was to create a lot of elements: full CG crazy world, creatures, fx effects like sand simulation, smoke and windows explosion.
