Captain Obvious in Quarantine is a series of TV and online spots designed to resonate with consumers’ feelings at the different stages of the pandemic experience in 2020.

In March, just days after lock-downs began across the United States. and as consumer fear and anxiety were reaching unforeseen highs, Hotels.com (a travel brand!) told people to social distance and “Just stay home.”

In June, when the collective malaise of quarantine was setting in, Captain Obvious gave everyone an empathic look at what lockdown looked like for him in a vlog style series all shot on his webcam.

Also in June and throughout July, when people longed for an escape, he told them it was okay to dream about traveling even if you couldn't do it yet.
