Background
TEMPTATIONS™ is the #1 Cat Treat brand in the world, built on the irresistibility of the famous ‘crunchy outside, creamy inside’ Core Pocket treat. But it’s not stopping there; TEMPTATIONS™ wants to become a $1B brand by 2025 by, firstly, increasing sales of treats by $150M to $750M and, secondly, launching new dry cat food to become a $250M brand. In order to achieve these objectives, we knew we needed a new platform to support the product portfolio expansion outside of the original Core Pocket treats. CATS LOSE THEIR COOL™ is a playful take on cats’ reactions to the irresistibility of all TEMPTATIONS™ products. As we know, cats can be aloof, which can be a barrier to bonding. But with TEMPTATIONS™ their aloofness and ‘cool’ is kept in check, and those elusive moments of bonding are within reach.
Execution
Cats act like they’re too cool for their adoring owners. But there is one thing that melts their cool exterior: TEMPTATIONS™ irresistible cat food. In this spot, we see a cat behaving like it’s the star of an achingly cool French film. A chef presents the cat with a lobster on a silver platter. French Cat is deeply unimpressed and throws it to the floor, much to the disappointment of the chef. We then see the chef pouring TEMPTATIONS™ dry cat food into a bowl, as French Cat sprints into picture, completely losing his cool. As the spot closes, we see the cat chowing down on the delicious kibble, with a crazed look in its eyes.
