Description

Redesigning the cement packages with baseball related art in the "Passion for Baseball Special Edition", during the 2015-2016 season.

Execution

In order to innovate in this category and create the first ever series of collectable cement sacks, we created designs based on baseball icons: hats, baseballs, bats and gloves. Due to the inherent limitations of printing on this medium, the illustrations were designed from the outset as two–tone graphics in Argos’s corporate colors in order to achieve with image quality maximize brand recognition. We used thick, structured lines and solid blocks of color that evoke cement’s strength as well as baseball’s precision. The result was that we created a true design collection; cement sacks went from being disposable bags to being sought–after pieces that ended up decorating the homes of our target audience —construction workers— and turning them into true design collectors.

Outcome

Package became collectibles for construction workers and inspired them to seek all of them. It was such a success that there is already an order of new artworks for the 2016-2017 season, that will have a very special promo.
