Description

As an initiative to reduce waste, we gave disposable chopsticks a second life. We partnered with Benwood Design, a leading local furniture manufacturer, and turned the 20 million chopsticks from our restaurants into unique pairs of school desks & chairs: “CHOPSTICKS FURNITURE”

Execution

200 sets of Chopsticks Furniture were donated to under-privileged schools in remote areas. During the manufacturing and design process, we ensured that they were quality and useful products.

STRONG + WATER-RESISTANT: Designed & engineered to be sturdy and durable.

SEAMLESS + SMOOTH SURFACE: Tailor-made to ensure complete functionality.

FUNCTION + DESIGN: Featuring a unique hand-crafted pattern of bamboo chopsticks art.

Outcome

Our effort resulting to 200 sets donated to under-privileged schools in remote areas. Turning the 20 million chopsticks that would normally go to waste every year into something useful. And whilst using disposable chopsticks are still unavoidable, the least we could do is teaching the next generation on how to be more mindful about the waste they leave behind.
