Description
This film first screened at Bayer's AGM.Bayer launched its integrated Climate Protection Programme in 2007 with the aim of applying the company’s core competencies to tackle environmental problems and better deal with climate change. The film, entitled “Climate Change”, was created for the Annual General Meeting with the goal of winning over shareholders, journalists and investors for the Bayer Climate Programme. It also serves to inform global employees via the Internet. It features two complementary narratives. The first thread shows children on three continents drawing pictures about climate change, giving the images depth and emotionality. These pictures underline the significance of the second thread: the Bayer Climate Programme. The main aspects are demonstrated by project examples, while short quality 3-D cartoons communicate a positive note to the scientific sections.By linking the children’s pictures to artistic animations, the two threads are smoothly connected. The dramatic audio collages empower the children’s otherwise soundless appeal.
By dovetailing the two elements, the film has its own suggestive power and clarity, and while the structure remains clear, the topic is presented as part of a larger narrative flow.
The film maintains a high degree of tension throughout, with information and global perspectives changing every 30 seconds.
