Description
To demonstrate that DaviPlata is the most modern way to pay without using cash, we decided to teach the habitants of the oldest town in Colombia, Concepción, how to use it to handle all their daily transactions. The publicity generated by our campaign made the whole country understand the ease and simplicity of paying with DaviPlata.
Execution
With the participation of important local figures and with the support of DaviPlata, we successfully launched the first Day Without Cash. The town’s inhabitants experienced all the benefits of the product, but we didn’t stop there. We publicized the event and told the whole country about the intriguing story of Concepción, where even in the midst of old traditions and rustic, ancient ways, the process of exchanging currency had changed.
Outcome
We earned $1.800.000 USD of free press, $2.200.000 USD in new business, and generated 11.000.000 global impressions. We were a trending topic on Twitter with 6.000.000 impressions and a 93% positive response. By making the oldest town in Colombia embrace the most modern payment system, we encouraged the whole country to do the same.
