Description

In spite of the oft-cited obsolescence of books as tactile carriers of experience and information, the way in which this book merges as a medium with the new media clearly allows it to retain its raison d'être and enter into a fruitful symbiosis with its supposed opposite. In this case, the bound book also proves itself on a purely material level as a carrier medium with regard to a specific sphere of experience, namely for the fold-out poster contained in it: this enables a sensually delightful and, in terms of reproduction technology, quite economical paper change and complements the act of "flipping through" the book by means of a literal "unfolding" of the content.

Execution

This artist's book makes targeted use of classic book layout, both in its graphic-visual design and in its technical production, so as to contrast these elements with progressive typographic breaks and media border-crossings.
