Lance Acord’s ‘Cowboy’ pulls the viewer, quite literally, into the immersive sensation of film by toggling between objective reality and the movies. It utilizes the Hollywood staple, spaghetti westerns, to take the audience into a story in a way that’s tailored to the individual’s needs. Including subtitles, but in a hyperreal manner that releases the story’s tension through comedy.
