Description

Crappy Ad Swap is a Google Chrome extension that changes all the ads you usually see when you surf the Internet to the best ads in the world. It’s created exclusively for Brother Creativity School’s students and based in the most important purpose of Brother: teach and inspire their students to have the best ideas.

Execution

Crappy Ad Swap is a Chrome extension that uses ad blocking software to swap all the terrible ads of the Internet for the most awarded ones. Using a special code, our students can download it from the Chrome Web Store and install it in their browser.

It recognizes more than 50 different digital ad formats and adapts the 160 most awarded ads to those formats.

We build responsive banners that will adjust to all those digital ad formats.

We have also created a blog with all the campaigns’ details which they were able to access by clicking on each banner.

Outcome

Out of 500 Brother Creativity School’s students, 432 installed the Crappy Ad Swap extension in their Chrome browser. This means that we helped save 432 students from seeing an average of 2000 terrible digital ads per day.

We had a click-through rate of 30% of people that wanted to know more about the campaign displayed on the banner.

We received hundred of mails from students of other colleges and creative schools interested in getting the special code to install Crappy Ad Swap in their browser.

We started a conversation about the efficiency of the world’s most used media and how we are wasting brand’s money with bad ideas and bad executions.
