Execution

The idea was simple, share offers, earn points and win an iPad2.The mechanics were even simpler: Fans earned points for sharing various credit card offers on their Facebook wall, twitter and even by emailing their friends and family.

To avoid spamming, fans could only share the offers on their walls limited to 5 shares on Facebook and 15 tweets per user, a day. However, for every unique click on the shared link they would earn points, similarly every re-tweet would earn them additional points. For transparency and to increase competition, they could track their status on a leader-board.

Outcome

By the end of the four weeks, the Share and Win promotion helped gain more than 20,000 new fans on our Facebook page, an increase of 3000% in the number of conversations around the brand, a total of 112,764 offers shared on Facebook and twitter and a 1000% increase in traffic to the offer page on the Standard Chartered Bank (UAE) website.
