For decades, Germany-Holland matches strike nerves on both border-sides. As the most-loved carbrand in both countries, Volkswagen Holland and Germany joined forces. In a campaign where both nations could settle score before kick-off: DAS INTERLAND.
A live penalty shoot-out, where dutch and german fans wipe each other out, at the tip of a finger. A post on two Facebookwalls, got the ball rolling. A smart back-end insured always opponents to play against, on any device. 2 weeks before the match, over 1.5million goals were scored. By poking fun at rivalry, Volkswagen, the people's car brand, brought two nations bit closer.
