Part of the ‘Forgotten Children’ campaign, Dispatches reveals the many crucial failings of the British care system. The contributors featured in the programme had to remain anonymous in promotional material, and so an animated approach was taken. A jumble of generic bureaucratic forms is used as the grounding motif to illustrate how children are ‘lost’ within a cold and impersonal system. The real testimonials are organically incorporated into the forms, underscoring the cold and depersonalising nature of the process. How children become numbers, and their stories become statistics.
